Mzansi Super League
The Mzansi Super League is South Africa’s first Twenty20 cricket league. The literal meaning of the word Mzansi in the language of Xhosa is south and for South Africa, it is also an informal
name. That’s why the league is named as Mzansi Super League. It is comprised of six franchise
teams representing different cities in South Africa. The first edition of the tournament was played from 16th November to 16th December 2018.
The Mzansi Super League’s second season (MSL) is set to launch on November 8 and the event promises to be another star-studded affair.

The young talent in South Africa will be able to knock shoulders with the leading players in the country, namely AB de Villiers, Kagiso Rabada and FAF du Plessis among others.
During the course of the tournament, a total of 32 matches will be played with the final set to be concluded on December 16. The last season had also concluded on the same day, last year.
With a lot of South African and international superstars taking part in the tournament, the upcoming season is anticipated to be even bigger and better.

The Mzansi Super League 2019 is contested by six teams, they are
- Tshwane Spartans
- Durban Heat
- Cape Town Blitz
- Jozi Stars
- Paarl Rocks
- Nelson Mandela Bay Giants
Each team in the league will play a series of 10 matches. Each team will play twice, once on home ground and once away against each other. Before the final, there will be only one playoff.
The second-placed team at the points table will play against the third-placed team in the play-off. Finally, in the final, the winner of this game will play against the table-topper.
